The source of free rights and free images that I use for my web presence

A recurring problem when you have a web presence is to succeed in illustrating its publications by images without using photos protected by copyrights. A search for images on Google or Flickr is fine, but most of the time, the results are protected by copyright, so not usable, normally.

There are also paid solutions, of the type Shutterstock, which inventories and provides images free of rights, but paying: a service that certainly deserves its price, but too expensive for a blog without sufficient income like this.

So I use a service similar to Shuttestock, but that has a more community approach: Pixabay. There are "more than 1.4 million images and videos shared by a generous community", according to their home page.

Everyone submits their images to the community. An evaluation system then defines which image will be proposed on the site.

This selection is quite rigorous: I have for example submitted about twenty images, carefully selected among the best in my personal photo library: Only a small ten have been validated for now.

But the result is interesting: the images provided are generally of quality, and the cataloging by keywords allows to find its happiness easily!
