Yallo profiles itself as a "Full Service" operator and offers canon launch offers

A little reminder of the jungle of telecom operator brands in Switzerland, whether fixed or mobile.

Before, it was quite simple. We had UPC providing its fixed Internet services via the cable network, while Swisscom offered the same service via its "copper" telephone network. Then there was mobile telephony, with Swisscom, Salt and Sunrise (Yes, I know: Sunrise was called Diax and Salt was called Orange, but let's not complicate).

And UPC started doing mobile. And the main mobile operators have launched their "low-cost" brand: yallo for Sunrise, and Wingo for Swisscom.

And it got even more complicated when Sunrise, so yallo, bought UPC, unless it was the other way around. So we now have a mix of fixed and mobile operators which, in the end, are largely owned by Swisscom or Sunrise.

In this context, Sunrise UPC simplifies its offer and today positions its brand"yallo"as a low-cost "full service" operator, i.e. providing fixed and mobile internet / TV services. For now, I admit that I have a little trouble finding myself in this merger Sunrise – UPC – Yallo.

But, for the consumer, the important thing is that yallo releases this January 25 very attractive fixed Internet offers, relying on the UPC cable network as well as the Sunrise fiber network.

At the time of writing this article, we do not yet have the details of the yallo Home Max Cable offer. What we do know is that it includes Yallo TV and offers an Internet speed of 1Gbit/s. Details here from 25.1.2022

Yallo will provide:

  • Mobile offers, as currently
  • Yallo TV, a multiplatform TV service
  • Yallo Home Internet offers: Home Max Fiber, Home 4G/5G and the new Home Max Cable offer.
