Prix des lecteurs de la Ville de Lausanne 2023: voting is open

Prix des lecteurs Lausanne 2023

Who will be the winner of the 2023 City of Lausanne Readers’ Prize? It’s up to the readers to decide! From January 1 to February 28, the public will vote to choose their favorite among the five novels in the running. The result will be announced on March 6 at the Théâtre de Vidy-Lausanne.

It’s time to vote for the 2023 City of Lausanne Readers’ Prize! Readers are invited to choose, until February 28, their favorite novel among the five works in the running. The winner of this unique literary prize is chosen by the entire public wishing to participate, from Lausanne, Romandie or Francophonie. As a reminder, the five books in the running are: “La Cabine”, by Eric Bulliard, “Fusil”, by Odile Cornuz, “Les déshérités”, by Valentin Decoppet, “Lettre à mon dictateur”, by Eugène, and “Sa préférée” by Sarah Jollien-Fardel.

Voting can be done electronically (www.lausanne.ch/prixdeslecteurs), by mail or in ballot boxes placed in the City’s libraries, in various bookstores in Lausanne and in the French-speaking part of Switzerland (the Université Populaire de Lausanne, the BCU Lausanne, the Vevey Library, the BPU Neuchâtel, the Maison Rousseau and Littérature in Geneva).

Easily accessible books

In order to facilitate access to books, the novels are available for free digital reading during the voting period on the Readers’ Prize website and are made available by the City’s libraries and partner libraries. The Prize thus offers an active incentive to discover novels and authors from French-speaking Switzerland and plays a prescriptive role in public reading.

The cycle of literary meetings at the Lausanne Palace with the authors in the running continues with Valentin Décoppet on January 14 and Odile Cornuz on February 4, as do the reading clubs dedicated to the prize, both in Lausanne and elsewhere in French-speaking Switzerland. The award ceremony for the Prix des lecteurs de la Ville de Lausanne 2023 will be held on March 6 at 8 p.m. at the Théâtre Vidy-Lausanne and will be broadcast live on La Télé Vaud Fribourg.
